Teaching Evaluations from Students
Bethany was a great GSI. She was very clear when giving out directions and was enthusiastic about the subject. She was always willing to listen and was a very encouraging GSI. I wish that all my GSIs had been like her because she really did build friendships with her students and made them feel comfortable. I wasn't too interested in this course but Bethany made it interesting. (Anthrbio 161, 2011)
Her discussions were engaging, the time was spent judiciously and enthusiastically and she always had a clear understanding of the material and was very prepared to deal with questions or confusions. (Anthrbio 161, 2011)
Section had a good atmosphere where we could really discuss honestly how we felt about certain issues and work out some concepts we were unclear about. Bethany was a great GSI! She was always really helpful and talked to us in a fun and appropriate way. You could tell she really cared. (Anthrbio 363, 2012)
Bethany is one of the best GSIs I've had at UM. She is very enthusiastic about teaching and does a fantastic job presenting the material in an accessible manner. I am impressed by the way that she makes students feel comfortable asking questions, presenting their own ideas, and making mistakes. (Anthrbio 467, 2013)
Bethany has been one of my favorite GSIs in my undergraduate career due to her openness, helpfulness, and clarity of instruction and rapport. (Anthrbio 467, 2014)
Bethany was very respectful and kind. I went to her office hours once and she patiently explained different concepts I didn't understand. She was great at engaging the class during lectures. I originally enrolled in this class because it seemed like an interesting option to fulfill my natural science distribution requirement. However, it turned out to be so much more useful. This class truly exceeded my expectations. (Anthrbio 297, 2014)
